What is a Star Citizen referral code?
A Star Citizen referral code is used when creating a new RSI account. New accounts currently receive the official 50,000 UEC referral bonus, and the code costs the new player nothing.
- Use it during RSI account creation whenever possible.
- The regular Star Citizen referral bonus is currently 50,000 UEC.
- It is not a coupon and does not change your game-package price.
How the Star Citizen referral code works
For a new player
The referral code connects your new RSI account to an existing Star Citizen player and applies the official signup bonus when the referral is accepted. The current regular new-player bonus is 50,000 UEC.
For the person sharing it
If your account later qualifies as a recruit under the RSI referral program, I receive one referral point. RSI currently requires a Game Package and at least $40 USD spent on the Pledge Store for that recruit point to count.
How to use a Star Citizen referral code
Create your RSI account
Use the direct referral link or enter the code manually on the official RSI enlist page.
Make sure the referral is applied
Before finishing signup, check that the referral field contains the code.
Start with your referral bonus
Your new account receives the currently valid referral bonus according to RSI terms.
Is there a Star Citizen promo code or coupon code?
Many new players search for a Star Citizen promo code, coupon code, bonus code, or discount code before signing up. For RSI account creation, the important system is the Star Citizen referral program.
A referral code is not a classic price discount on a Game Package. It applies the official Star Citizen signup bonus to your new account, currently 50,000 UEC, without increasing the package price.
Already created your RSI account?
RSI currently says a referral code should be entered during account creation. If you missed it, a new player has 24 hours after account creation to add a referral code from the RSI account panel.
After that grace period, RSI Support says they will not add a code for you. Because this rule can change, check the official RSI Referral Program FAQ before publishing time-sensitive wording elsewhere.
Why use my referral code?
You receive the complete official RSI referral bonus. If your account later qualifies as a recruit under the RSI referral program, I receive one referral point. Your game-package price does not increase.
This is my personal creator/player referral code, shared transparently as part of Taavi Spectre: a Star Citizen fan project with guides, screenshots, tools, community content, and new-player help.
Do I need to buy an expensive Star Citizen ship?
No. A valid Game Package is the normal way to start playing Star Citizen, and expensive standalone ships are not necessary for beginners. Many ships can be bought or rented later with in-game currency.
Not ready to buy Star Citizen yet?
Try it first.
During official Star Citizen Free Fly events, new players can try the game for a limited time without buying a Game Package. It is the best next step if you are curious but not ready to purchase.
Still not sure if Star Citizen is for you?
Star Citizen is ambitious, unusual, and still not the right fit for every player. If you want the broader decision guide first, start with the beginner overview while the dedicated worth-it page is prepared.
